Description
Real-time CO monitoring for homes, RVs, motorhomes and boats.
🔥 Core Benefits & Key Features
- 10-Year Electrochemical Sensor: This CO detector features a 10-year service life and is powered by replaceable AA batteries with a 1-year battery lifespan. It adopts a clear LED display to show real-time CO concentration. The detection range covers 10 ppm to 999 ppm. Compliant with EU standard EN 50291, it accurately detects tiny carbon monoxide leaks and builds a reliable safety barrier for you and your family.
- Real-Time LCD Digital Display: No more guessing games. The clear backlit screen displays real-time carbon monoxide concentrations (in PPM) at a single glance.
- Low-Level Pre-Alarm: Flags ≥20 ppm sustained >30 min with a gentle 3-min beep - early warning for the vulnerable.
- Piercing 85dB Audio Alert: When dangerous gas levels are detected, the built-in horn blasts a loud, repetitive 85-decibel alarm guaranteed to wake up heavy sleepers from deep midnight slumbers.
-
Alarm Memory: Stores the peak CO value for 3 days if no one clears the alarm - proof for your Gas Safe engineer.

From the
"Silent Killer".
The CO08 doesn't wait for danger to become dramatic. At a steady low level, it warns gently - one soft beep every three minutes. That early whisper gave expectant mother, six months pregnant, enough time to open every window long before any alarm would ever need to scream.

Complied standard
⚖️Is your rental legally compliant?
Since the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Regulations 2022, landlords in England must fit a CO alarm in any room with a combustion appliance, and replace it if it fails. Non-compliance can invalidate insurance and licensing. The CO08 makes compliance effortless.
🏴 England - Rentals: CO alarm in every room with a combustion appliance (Oct 2022)
🏴 Wales - Rentals: CO alarm required where fuel is burnt (Dec 2022)
🏴 Scotland - CO alarm in rooms with appliances (interlink rules apply to smoke/heat)
🏴 Standard - EN 50291-1 certified by SGS for EU/UK use

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your CO detector. Can't find the answer? Contact our support team.
Where is the best place to install my carbon monoxide alarm?
For optimal protection, install CO alarms on every level of your home, especially near sleeping areas. Since carbon monoxide mixes evenly with air, you can mount it on a wall at eye level or place it on a shelf. Avoid installing directly above fuel-burning appliances, in extremely humid areas like bathrooms, or near windows/doors with heavy drafts. We recommend at least one alarm within 3 meters of every bedroom door.
How long does the battery last and is it replaceable?
The CO08 comes with a sealed 1500mAh lithium battery designed to last up to 10 years under normal operating conditions. The battery is built-in and not user-replaceable, which prevents tampering and ensures consistent power delivery. When the battery reaches end-of-life, the unit will emit a distinct chirp every 60 seconds to alert you that it's time to replace the entire detector. The 10-year lifespan means you won't need to worry about annual battery changes.
What should I do if the alarm goes off?
If the alarm sounds (4 loud beeps repeating every 5 seconds), remain calm and immediately move everyone to fresh air outdoors or near an open window/door. Call your local emergency services or fire department from a safe location. Do not re-enter the premises until emergency responders have given clearance, the area has been ventilated, and the source of CO has been identified and fixed. A low-level warning (single soft beep every 3 minutes) means elevated but not yet dangerous levels — ventilate immediately and inspect potential sources like furnaces, water heaters, or generators.
Do I need a CO alarm if I don't have gas appliances?
Yes, absolutely. Carbon monoxide can be produced by any fuel-burning source, not just natural gas appliances. This includes oil or kerosene heaters, wood-burning fireplaces and stoves, charcoal grills, gas-powered generators, vehicle exhaust from attached garages, and even blocked chimneys. CO can also seep into your home from neighboring properties. For complete home safety, we recommend CO protection regardless of your primary heating source. Many fire safety codes now require CO alarms in all residential properties.
Why does the detector show a reading even when I don't smell anything?
Carbon monoxide is completely odorless, colorless, and tasteless — that's why it's called "the silent killer." You cannot see, smell, or taste it, which makes electronic detection absolutely essential. The LCD display shows real-time PPM (parts per million) readings even at low levels that wouldn't trigger an alarm but may indicate a developing problem. Low-level readings (under 30 PPM) can come from normal activities like cooking with gas briefly, but persistent readings above 10 PPM when no sources are active should be investigated.
Will this alarm interconnect with other smoke or CO detectors?
The CO08 is a standalone battery-operated unit and does not support hardwired interconnectivity. However, this makes installation extremely simple with no electrician required — you can mount it in minutes using the included adhesive strip or screws. For whole-home coverage, we recommend installing one unit on every level and near each sleeping area. The 85dB alarm is loud enough to be heard through closed doors in most homes, and the sealed 10-year battery ensures every unit stays powered continuously without interconnection dependency.
